Time to start planning marathons around the new home!

I didn’t post the mile loop! I have it here:
I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before but the direction I go might actually matter. I assumed I would start by going north and hitting the trail, but maybe I should start out by crossing Studemont while I have more energy. We’ll see!
Of course I can also do exercises in the apartment complex gym (even though I generally hate it) and I need to do at least one set of PT exercise hip stretches.
So the new plan is to collect ideas, inspo, projects and materials, and then break in the NEW APARTMENT with them with a marathon at end of October or early November (moving day into 2-bed apartment: October 21) (also moving killed FFF).
If I can develop the courage (and if it’s not too hot or cold outside since it has to have an outdoor component) I will try making a simple resin art project. I don’t think I’ll ever get up to the magnificent dioramas but I lust enough to try!
So I didn’t get to do a quarter marathon on spring break, because my mom’s health got worse so I went up to visit. Then I moved to Houston and got a new job, and it’s way too hot to run outside right now anyway. So right now I have to deal with this:
So if I want to do this I either need to go late (like 4pm-10pm or something) or wait until like October.
In the meantime I can plan my route though!
A half mile is pretty easy to achieve just by running around two blocks in the neighborhood. If I want the full mile I can do a loop through the Buffalo Greenway park.
As for what needs doing, I will start laying the groundwork for a few projects:
And more things to come soon! Let’s aim for late September for a new marathon?? October might get busy with FFF.
Hey!! I’m feeling a lot better from surgery and also, I don’t know why I didn’t check before, but it turns out the apartment building is exactly a half mile around!! Wow!!
I have this week coming up off and then next week also but Karen is back to work next week so maybe I can get Q5 in on that week. Aiming maybe for like 1/5/22.
What are some things I want to do?
More to come soon!
So I got busy with work, and then my hip got worse so I finally had surgery in March. Now I’m starting to be well enough to consider a new marathon since I have about 1.5 months off.
Here are some projects, in no particular order, I would like to work on:
Also now that I’ve moved, and am still in recovery, the exercise of choice needs to change:
A third thing to consider is WHEN!
I ran a lap of the apartment complex this morning. It wasn’t too bad, but there were some concerns:
This is the route I can run that does not incorporate going through the east gate. It’s not ideal because it involves pushing open a door while running and then cutting across some (potentially soggy) grass but it’s surprisingly still over half a mile (0.56 on the charted path, almost the same as the other one which is 0.57). It does involve extra turns going through and around buildings so it’s less fun but still workable

So it looks like if I run outside of the gates of my apartment complex and complete the loop that way it’s a half mile. So two of those is a mile (approx.) which means I have my marathon track! Sort of. Not really ideal to squeeze through the gates but at least the one on the west side I know I can fit through. If it’s not an easy squeeze through the east side then I’ll either need to bring my clicker with me or figure out another route.
